Trying to check my air blender on the Drivers side, can anyone give me guidance on how to remove the black plastic panel just under the steering wheel?

Check for HVAC system codes.

There are a few threads out there where bbyer details a method to check for HVAC fault codes. It involves pressing and holding some buttons and letting the system run a few tests. Button lights flash if there are faults found in operation of the blend door motors.

I removed a couple panels until I could put my hand on the blend door motors and felt them whirring. It's a poor diagnoatic test but... I did it. I also fed a camera down the vents to visualize the blend doors moving.

When I flushed my heater core it flushed just fine. The flush pushes past the blockage that has settled (apparently) to one bottom corner of the heat exchanger. I didn't cut my old heat exchanger open to do a failure analysis but it seems reasonable. Either way, the flush appeared normal, but no change was detected in heat. Replacement of the heat exchanger resulted in an immediate fix

Best,
