Did it this weekend.

I decided not to change the megatronics seals, I just changed the sleeve. I used right stuff to hold the gasket on the Trans.

Took a Liitke more than 3 hours to do the Trans, t case, and diffs.

Found this eBay seller selling the pan and the bolts for cheaper than any source I found before. The previous one I ordered from Germany. Plus these bolts are normal 6 points heads so the next service will be easier with a ratcheting box end wrench. I just received 2 of these and they are a direct fit. Installing this weekend.

What is the pan's plastic bag used for? Can't seem to figure that step out.

Isn't the point of the metal pan to have a removable filter? I don't see that the one you linked has one abran.

Do you mean the explanation of the install? I think the plastic bag was on the gasket to help get it in. I just applied right stuff to the trans and stuck it on there.

Its a separate part that you buy. That seller I linked has them as well.

Did the service this weekend with the pan and bolts I linked. Worked great. I A little easier than using the torx screws.

The worst part was getting the 8MM bolts on the tranny heat shield cage in on the driveshaft side. Next time I might just partly remove the driveshaft to save myself.

Thanks for all the great information.

A few questions.

1. Mechatronic seal adapter will fit all 6HP26, 6HP28 and 6HP32 transmissions. What is this for? Does it not already have this part installed to begind with?

2. A plastic bag for a gasket. This lost me, I thought you just put the gasket on the pan and then bolt it on. Not sure what the plastic bag does.

3. You loose 1 Quart over stock pan. Is this a big deal? Will it cause the tranny to run hotter vs the original pan?
The question which is better 7 quarts of older oil or 1 quart of new oil answer to this would be 7 quarts of old oil over being low 6 quarts with new.

Not sure the point where less new oil becomes a liability there is one no doubt.
