I bought an '06 LR3 HSE this weekend. Originally I had been looking for an '08 but this was a deal I couldn't pass up.
There are two issues with the power seats that changed in the model years.
The wife and I both have back problems and being able to micro adjust the seats is a major help when driving on long trips.
The '06 driver seat has no lumbar whereas the '08 did and the '06 passenger seat is only 6 way whereas the '08 was 8 way.
I have a set of '08 HSE seats that I can get and I am hoping that they should be direct bolt in and plug in since all the controls are in the seats themselves it appears.
Anyone swapped seats from later model to older model LR3 before?

 

My 05 has lumbar support .It is manual though, there is a large **** on back side of the seat that turns to adjust lower back .
As for 08 seats, I don't remember anybody swapping sets on this panel, but on British forum , there were guys changing clothed seats for leather, so you want to try there for an answer..Good luck.

 

I contacted Roverland and they seemed to think it will be a direct plug/bolt in. They have no tan seats, only black though.

 

check local wrecking yards, you never know what is just laying around waiting for the right buyer. also, you could post a wanted ad in the classifieds here on LRF

hopefully it's an easy swap out

 

The original owner had all the manuals and the manual shows the power lumbar button on the seat even though there isn't one there and every '06 HSE for sale that I have seen pics of, no lumbar switch.
I looked at the '07 HSE and the pics I have seen, it has the power lumbar, but only 6 way passenger, not 8 way.
The '08 seems to be the year when both upgrades are in the vehicle.

 

I think I remember hearing that it was absent in '06.
