After hunting for the past 6 months I have found my rover. I have always wanted a rover and have really been enjoying it. I have tried to educate myself of what I am getting and I am ready for a challenge. LOL
My ID tool bluetooth version is in the mail now. It has 115k on it. I had an indy shop in Seattle look at it before I bought it and they said it was in great shape. The control arms were replaced recently and the brakes are at 50% (so that job is coming up) It has the Cooper AT tires on it and they will need to be changed out soon. I am thinking of hunting for some 18" or going with some black rims. It is White with Blank Interior. I wanted the Tan (just seems more classic to me) but I really wanted a white one and this rover fit the bill mechanically. It has the rear locker. The maintanance
records were not as complete that I would of liked so I am thinking I am due for some time under the wrench. Ill look for you all for guidance, ribbing, and entertainment. Cheers
Very nice set up. Black interior is for sure easier to maintain. I notice everything on the Alpaca. The previous owner seemed to love denim.
Good luck with the new rig and Go Dawgs.
That rear locker is worth its weight in gold. Any idea on previous maintenance? Diff fluid changed? Has the tranny fluid ever been changed? In the maintenance department those are the 2 biggies. Theres some debate as to wether that metal shavings in the tranny help the clutches over time, or if its better to change the fluid. My tranny had 140 on it and still shifts like butter so i'm going to risk it and not do the fluid and just foot the bill for a new tranny when that time comes. The ONLY reason why I am doing that however is my tranny has 140 on it while my motor only has 40 on it so replacing the tranny at some point will happen because I will have my rig through college and beyond. Other than those 2 items the rover will tell you either through faults or by keeping a eye on the rig to know when something needs replacing. The air struts last around 100k miles but if they are riding good and your not saging overnight your probably good.
Welcome to rover ownership you'll love it and hate it!

I plan on doing all fluids over the next few months. I don't have any real records of fluid changes so might as well do them all. Just got my IIDtool today Ill be setting it up over the next couple days. Tires are going to have to come in the next 6 months or so. But I love this truck so fun to drive. Cant wait to get it on the dirt roads
...let me know if you need suggestions on places to go (it's Tahuya until the snow melts, then Liberty, Fortune Creek, Manastash). Congrats!
I have been to a few of these places. I hunt elk and camp near Bumping Lake and Whistlen Jacks so I am really excited to get back there once the snow melts.
