when I first start the car, the idle will dip down to about 500 or so rpm's and then go back up. it occasionally does it when coming to a stop. doesnt matter if the engine is warm or not. any thought's? could it be as simple as injectors needing to be cleaned?

I have an '07 with 70,000+ miles with same problem. I bought a can on throttle body cleaner and cleaned it with a rag right on the engine. It was easy and worked for about $3.50 in materials.

My 08 SE also does this (sometimes) when you cleaned the throttle body what exactly did you do? remove the air intake and shoot it directly in the throttle body? or something else.

Have to admit other than doing the brakes and oil changes i rarely have to do anything to the LR3. It was my wife's before i got it full time to replace my D90 as my daily driver.
