Thanks for the tip DavC!

Also, this may be useful to someone in the future, but previous owner said sunroof wasn't closing so he pulled the fuse. I reinstalled it and sure enough, dead sunroof. Decided to keep it closed. Somehow it opened up on me today though and wouldn't close.

I tried the 20second reset, 40 sec, 2 min, you name it. No clicking, no signs of life. Eventually I just pulled out the sunroof control switch/button (with the interior light assembly) and disconnected every plug, then reconnected them all, and voila! Came back to life and is working flawlessly now. Land Rover, your gremlins are weird.

Hmm, this looks like the locking rear diff to me, which I wasn't told about when I got the truck. Can anyone confirm? Nice surprise!

Cannot tell by photo darkness, but it should be very clear if it is a locker, there will be a motor on one side and wiring coming off of that. If you've got it congrats, but do definitely get the fluid changed and the correct (e-locker) fluid. Only bad thing that happens really is people spend so long without locking and unlocking it so it doesn't see a lot of use.

Yes, certainly looks like the locking motor to me. Congrats! You should have a full size spare tire to match it.

Yep, spare tire is there as well! Got to finally take it off-road a bit and play around with the different terrain response settings this last weekend with the family. The locking diff was definitely engaged a few times and it was neat to see it on the screen engaging the locks. Maybe it's because this is my first 4x4, but I'm very impressed with terrain the LR3 is able to tackle with such ease (for such a big vehicle). The only thing that worried me were the Michelin tires, but they held up. Unfortunately we saw the Owens River fire start :/

It also seems a bit odd that there's a ladder on it but no rack. Might have to change that one way or another later on.

Very cool pics. Yeah those tires will hold up, they are tough...but they won't help you much in terms of traction.

I am also intrigued when I watch the LR3 go back 'n forth between locking the rear/center/both diffs.

Nice pics indeed. The last few look like you're driving through my front yard right now... not a lick of green grass anywhere. I guess the east coast is becoming more like SoCal every summer.
