If you have the original key, get a blank key from the dealer then go to the locksmith. It's still cheaper...Buy a key programmer and program your own key is also a good idea, but you need to figure out how to use the tool.
I'm fond of the nanocom. The hawkeye cannot update software on the 8 million computers in the LR3. That's why I sold mine. It was a good tool, I just think the nanocom is better for D2 and LR3.
Since you've got a D1 also, maybe the limitations of the hawkeye would be worth it though, since the nanocom doesn't support D1.
