Default Knocking sound Rt. Rear Wheel

New SE, 43 miles purchased showroom model. First road trip. Loaded car with dog, camping gear and canoe up top. On the way, (all blacktop) start hearing a knocking at right rear wheel. Frequency mimics speed, no change with or without applying brakes, worse when loading the right suspension by turning left. No error messages, tried all 3 heights and all traction selections without change. Great. Another car chalked up to first model year! Let's hope nothing major, and no other issues soon or we'll be looking for a buyback.

Can you describe the knocking you hear or even post a video of it?

Based on the date of that original post, I'm not sure I'd bet that this would solve your issue. It's more likely a rear sway bar bushing. Again, need to know what you are observing.

Sure thing and great idea! I will get a video and sound clip of the thud and knocking sound. To describe it a little further, it sounds and feels as if it's coming from the rear passenger side wheel. At low speeds and from stand still starts, especially during the first few minutes of driving the vehicle, it usually has a mild to moderately hard "thud" sound. (Envision slack in something that catches up and knocks/thuds.) Then there is a low knocking sound, something of a rattle, but as I've seen others describe (basketball bouncing sound). This goes until the rpm's jump and the gears switch into higher gears. Usually every time I accelerate faster the sounds will cease.

another item to check would be your drive shaft center bearing. I just bought a very used LR3 that made similar sounds on the way home, and found the center bearing rubber is perished. The bearing is rolling freely in the steel hoop. Helluva racket rom the start and quiet as a churchmouse at speed.

Thanks! I'll write that down and check it.
