Left rear Axle seal when I replace brakes-
Hello all,
I have an 06 LR3 with 153k. I just got new tyres (:-) on it and the shop gave me a list of things that need to be attended to. One of them, the Left rear Axle seal is leaking and needs to be replaced.
I need to do the brakes soon, and was wondering if replacing that seal would be feasible for a novice repair many, namely my self?
If so, are there any special tools needed?
Oh also, for the brake job, are there any fancy LR tools I would need?
Thank you all!
James

There is only a CV boot on the brake side. The axle seal would be on the diff side, not exactly DIY for a novice if you don't have the confidence or the tenacity.
In my experience your diff bearings are going and causing the axle to ride the seal and leak.
