Default Loud fan/engine noise

Hi everyone, I have a 2006 lr3 v8 that have bee have loud fan/engine noise. I recently replace the fan clutch thinking that would help. I am still getting the noise once in awhile especially after a/c has been on. Also, the rpm reeves up quite a bit along with the noise.....any ideas?

thanks
AA

Well it should with AC use, but the engine revs should not climb much. Would help to know what "quite a bit" means. 100? 5,000? Sometimes a loud cooling fan can be the result of a dying alternator.

Default Sometimes it's normal...

...I think. Depending on weather conditions and use case, my '05 will just do that, the go back to normal. Like if I'm wheelin' and it's hot out and I have been driving slow for a while. Or if I have been using my block heater and I start it and the engine gets "fooled" and doesn't know it it's warmed up or not.

Does yours do this all the time?

Actually it just started doing it a few months ago and i've had the LR3 for 4 years now and this is the first time the problem has happened. I live in Florida and the temps have been at the low 50's and high 70's. For example, yesterday it worked fine in the morning, I out the heat on for awhile, ran some errands, came home for awhile, Then when i went out latter the noise and acceleration problem started up and didn't stop til i got back home.

It should not climb that much in RPM, thats dangerous.

If its not a terribly hot day and you can do without AC, disconnect the cooling fan and see how it behaves. Keep an eye on engine temp while driving!
