Low Tire Pressure Sensor

My wife and I just purchased a 2006 LR3 SE yesterday in Austin. It has been quite cold here in central Texas the past month. The dealer explained to us that we would see the low tire pressure light on but to not be concerned. These were brand new tires (verified by the independent mechanic's report we had). According to the dealer, the sensor is rudimentary because it does not account for the effects of outside temperature on the elasticity and density of the tire materials which in turn has an effect on the air pressure within the tires. He explained that I should make sure with a manual tire gauge when we got home that the tires are at 32 psi. If they were (and they are), then there was nothing to be worried about.

Yes. This morning when i turned on my LR3 the tire pressure signal was light on the dash. I'm going to check the pressure tonight after work at my local garage. If one tire is lower i'll put in air and see if that solves the problem.
