Just picked up 2009 V8 HSE and balked a little at the price LR wanted for the factory towbar, anyone know any reputable 3rd party suppliers that won't bend me over with the pricing?

Sorry. no idea. Will have to wait for someone else to chime in with some experience in that area.

 

I don't know of anybody that sells the receiver except for the dealer. The dealer trailer wiring kit and receiver are very easy to install and can be done in an afternoon(if you haven't done one before), or about 15-20 minutes if you have done them before. Doing it yourself will save you money and using the factory accessory kit virtually eliminates chances of messing up the lighting system.

 

You can get an aftermarket wiring kit http://www.roverparts.com/or http://www.britishpacific.com/, you might get a used wiring kit herehttp://www.roverlandparts.com/ but I have heard good and bad about the aftermarket kits so I went with the factory option. For the tow bar You have to get it from the dealer, I got mine on Ebay paid around 250 for it, but it took awile had to find one that was used and looked dirty in the picture, make for sure it comes with the keys if you get a used one.
Also remember if you have LED trailer lights you will get a faint constant flashing no big deal but expensiveto correct it is just how the LR is wired up.
