Here you can see the resistance reading for the level sensors. I would compare these reading to what the live data is reading with a diagnostic tool. I would then lower the tank to gain access the connector for actual resistance reading.

 

I was able to get the parts cost refunded but not the labor. I am considering how to go forward from here to get the problem diagnosed. The two options are this same independent shop, or the dealer. This shop claims they replaced the "fuel level sensor" which "is the same thing as the float." The part replaced is LR043384. Reading online I cant figure out if this is the same as a fuel level sensor or not?

 

Unless you want to remove the fuel tank, you will need your dealer or independent shop to do further diagnosis. I am surprised they choose to refund you and not look further into a fix.

Electrical tests are needed between the instrument panel and the fuel tank. Kinda of depends on who you trust better.
