Default LR3 Heated Front Seats

Hey Guys -

Does anyone know if the front seats already have the heating element in them and to turn them on - you simply have to replace the dash switch?

My truck don't have heated seats and was wonderinf how easy or hard it would be to add them.

Thanks for the info...

I'm in the same boat. Just bought mine, no heated seats. But I want heated seats!

Heating element is just a separate Mat with wire harness at the end of it.I am not sure if all seats come pre wired for that , but I think they should be as many other items on LR3 s.
I think you are better off to ask this Q. on British forum ,as I remember reading about this particular retrofit ,there.Good luck

Checked on this while back. It is apparently one of the more difficult retrofits if my sources are correct. And no, seats are not prewired. Check disco3.co.uk. There's a lot of info on it there.

Default Factory seat heat is big deal.

The link below is to the wiring diagram for the heated seats. There are two elements per seat, the seat cushion and the seat back.

Any as per the above, installation is a big deal as the seat heat ties into the computers so that power automatically shuts off should other systems need the electricity instead.

Your best bet is one of those aftermarket kits; factory is near impossible.

Yea i was on disco3. today and was reading one of the retro threads that states the ecu is not "aware" of heated seats, and that it can be done if the loom has the plugs or not. The hard part (expensive) is changing out the hvac controls.
