LR3 Navigation Disc update?
Just to update the thread, I too got a disc from Dijkvr!
Fantastic stuff, haven't noticed too many differences in the map yet but it works well, and my NAV on MOVE unlock finally works! Strangely fast shipping from the Netherlands too, what a marvelous world we live in

Just a followup from last month where I also have installed the new disc from from dijkvr.
For me, the disc seems very up to date; it show all but the newest minor roads in new local housing subdivisions. All the newer local freeways and new exits display, plus the routing works better than in the past. As such, I think there has been some sort of upgrade to the routing logic.
There are also improved display options that make reading the route at speed easier than with the past discs.
As to how close the output is to what would be on a new LR4/D4, I do not know but I expect there is now not much difference.
No wonder Land Rover has made owner NAV updates near impossible on the new LR4's. In my case, with my various system updates including my fibre optic bluetooth, I feel I am driving a near current vehicle with regards to technology.

I have the new disc and it's hard for me to test as there's not that many new roads in my typical driving habits. As for features... please explain. thanks.

Likely with the IID tool. I think you had to upgrade to the 2009 Nav version or somewhere thereabouts in order for the IID Tool unlock to work.
As far as new features, I know that there were certainly new features and new graphics introduced with the version that I currently have (2012 I think). Just more detail on roads and turns, especially on the freeways. It gave a much better layout when following directions and an improved freeway driving experience. Can't remember specifics because it's been too long.
I live in a region, Western Canada, which some regard as civilized and developed, yet luxury's like maps are a relatively new development.
By new, I mean in the last fifty years. An area I often travel thru, the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, to get to a ski area in Southern British Columbia, now maps fairly well on my updated disc. I recall that the original 2005 disc mapping displayed if not polar bears in lieu of dragons, signs that it was a variation of an early Royal Army ordinance map. A later update seemed to be using Corp of Engineers mapping data.
In particular, the main two lane paved highway nicknamed the Cowboy Trail and now Highway 22, was missing. There was however a trace that I gather was an early cattle driving trail much like your Chisholm Trail from Texas to Kansas.
I can presume that in most parts of the Eastern and West Coast USA, that would not be the case as most roads were built long ago and the only changes would be to add more McDonalds sites.
For significant changes however, you might for instance, look at the display for the Off Road Nav.
I note that the compass now incorporates a moving Latitude and Longitude readout. In the past, one had to go to a separate page to get the Lat and Long numbers. There are other changes in format as well; the more you play with the display format, the more seems to appear - it just takes time to find it all.
The new feautures. on input the address while moving, some different view settings, change to compass and some little things like that. just more features to choose in how you view the map and such.
