Default LR3 rear driveshaft

Doing an inspection today and I found my center support is shot, the typical rubber failure. No symptoms so I was surprised.

Questions for those that have serviced the rear shaft. How reliable are the CV and u-joints on these things? I can go new but I am considering picking up a used, installing a new center bearing, then swapping with mine. But if the u-joints and CVs are prone to failure I may as well go new.

I just swapped in a new shaft and moved on. Figured at 150k I was better off with new.

Front CV joint actually fails more than the center support. We just install new GKN and move on as Armyrover says.

Yeah, after some thought that is now my plan. Then it’s less things to worry about. Will shop around tonight.

What brand? The link URL implies Hardy Spicer which is GKN which is in turn OEM. So that would be fine. But BritPart I will not buy, already found one thread about how the BritPart rear shafts have some quality issues. So I am only looking to get GKN/Spicer shafts.
