LR3 Steering Problem?

All,
We own a 05 LR3 SE. My wife drove it last week about 100 feet on a flat driver's side front tire (piece of glass...). I put the spare on, plugged the tire, re-inflated it and put it back on the vehicle. Now it seems as if the steering grabs when you turn the wheel more than 10-15 degrees in either direction. At some points it seems that there is no power steering at all, it still works well off road, in fact when you activate some of the 'modes' the problem seems to go away for a while. All the fluids are fine, and there is no apparent damage to the rim, or the wheel well, or any other component. I do have a winch and under-shield but they pre-date the steering "issue" and all was fine prior to this flat tire. Any ideas? I'd rather not send the truck back into the dealer again... We do live in RI and the temps have been pretty low lately...
thanks any who may answer...
