It is a real butthole getting that box watertight. You can silicone the bottom of that deep corner bit, and do the same on the main box rubber flap drain (a coin and silicone is an easy way), and this is really good for anything but fording. If you get water up to that point, the only way is to very carefully do a safari snorkel install (the cuff piece from box to wing tube is very hard to get watertight). You can and should also bring the transfer case, trans, and diff breather tubes up much higher, if there is a snorkel you can piggy back off of that and bring those up the back.

In a pinch the upgraded front differential breather (the goretex cap one) is fine underwater, and its easier to just drain afterwards but definitely the transfer box and trans breathers are at windshield bottom edge height and will flood.

IF you get water under the seat, it will fry the amp, but you can get a used one and slap it back in, I had luck with this and nothing else electrical was damaged.

DavC - I did do a snorkel install. I have an idea for the box to that snorkel elbow bit that should make things water tight. I just need to source some bits. If it works, I will post what I did. Solution is removable for service, if it works out. I did seal the two other points on my box a while back. And breathers were extended this last weekend into the lower portion of the filter box using push fittings. I have another thread on that. I did this over running lines all over that could be pinched in some way. I still have to extend the rear breather a little. Again, not looking to build a submarine, but when it comes to water I dont think there is such thing as overkill.

Did you install the tube from the air box to the fender air intake?

ArmyRover - yes. With just a thin coat of Reinzosil to ensure sealing. At the non-snorkel end there is a small elbow that also attaches to the tube, as you probably know. They way that elbow interfaces to the airbox has me concerned, as mentioned above.

Was curious as so many people don't bother. Had one person explain to me the fender is sealed so the tube wasn't needed.
