So I was able to get the suspension aired up using the calibration. The rear will raise after just a few seconds but the front take a couple minutes. Anyways the calibration keeps failing and I’m assuming it’s due to the height sensors still being out of range. They’re brand new and recently installed by the previous owner hence why the suspension troubles. Is there a chance that installing them on the wrong sides or op side down will cause this. If I remember correctly some of the lowered values on the front were around 315 and I know it’s supposed to be lower than 250? I ended up cancelling the calibration and left the car at its ride height over night. It hasn’t dropped at all so that’s a good sign.

Well, good news it hasn't dropped! The front raising slower than the back is odd. As I understand it, the compressor fills the reservoir, then the valve blocks use the reservoir pressure to fill the front or back. Perhaps a pinched line on the front air supply line? Or a sticky valve in your front block? Mine takes about 3-4 seconds to raise or lower but the compressor makes noise for about a minute after each change.

As for calibration failing, never had that. It's been pretty straight forward every time I've done it. So yeah I would agree to check the product numbers on those height sensors to make sure they are in the right spots. Either way, it's likely a pretty easy fix. You got a good deal on the $3K rig!

Check the part number on the sensors as they cant be swapped around like on a D4.

If you can read the part numbers on your sensors.

Ok so I finally got back around to the Land Rover. I found the original sensors on the front seat (OEM) so I took them and chucked them into an ultrasonic cleaner for like 10 minutes. I finally took a look under and ripped out the aftermarket garbage sensors. Replaced the original ones back on and calibrated the car. SUCCESS. But then I turned the vehicle off and turned it back on. The compressor kicked on and the vehicle kept raising to extended mode. I’d try to select a different height but it would tell me to “lower vehicle once clear of obstacle” If I tried to choose a different height again it would throw a fault code. “C1A13-64” something about a gallery venting. If I clear the code I can sometimes get the suspension to stay in normal mode but as soon as I choose a different height it gets all wonky and throws a fault. So I sorta got it sorta don’t. Any help pls.

happy to hear you got your first problem sorted successfully 👍

Here are the most likely causes for the code you mentioned

So I've been driving the car for a few weeks now with the intermittent suspension fault. Everything was fine as long as I didn't try to lower the vehicle. The car would raise fine... but I stopped by my local salvage yard and found an LR3 with a brand new aftermarket compressor. I snagged it for $26 and installed it. The one that was on my vehicle was the upgraded AMK compressor dated back to 2013. The salvage yard unit is aftermarket but looks to be brand new, not even a speck of dirt on it. I installed it and now the car raises and lowers effortlessly. No lights, and it doesn't sink or lose height after sitting. However, the design and build quality of the AMK was leagues ahead of the Hitachi dupe. Is there rebuild kits for the AMK? I still have it and would like to repair it. The aftermarket one works fine but I'd like to have a backup.

there is really only the drier rebuild kits and exhaust valve available for the AMK so if the motor is working well then i'd service it and have it ready for when the cheap one dies.
