Default LR3 transmission pan conversion, missing plug?

Hey all,
Doing a trans service on my 05 4.4 with the 6spd auto. I got the conversion pan from Atlantic British with the metal pan and the separate filter - there's a large threaded hole in the pan next to the drain plug - it sticks up as a sleeve and is threaded on the inside.. over an inch in diameter. There's no plug included, only a cheap white plastic thing that kind of squeezes on there but surely couldn't be the intended solution..?

Am I missing a part or is the weird plastic part really it? If so, I'll make a plug - that's ridiculous.

you can see the plastic piece on the left end of the pan in their photo.

Hi Lance!

The kit should have come with a plug, please shoot me a PM with your name and customer number and we can get you a plug ASAP. As far as the plastic piece is concerned, that is to replace the transmission valve body sleeve. I've included a link to our video going over how to do the swap below.

How To Make Transmission Filter Changing Easy On The LR3, LR4 And Range Rover

Cheers!

I think he is questioning the white plastic T shaped piece which is definitely not for changing the valve body and not addressed in the video. At one point in the video he shows the plastic piece on the pan, then when he goes to install gasket it is gone and no mention of him removing it or what it's purpose is.

I did get this sorted out, after I talked with Atlantic British we ascertained that my pan somehow got produced without the large drain plug - they overnighted one to me and all's well there. I had to run it in using a 14mm bolt/nuts as I couldn't find a big enough allen wrench! :P

From what I can deduce, the white plastic piece that goes over the drain plug is to aid in filling through that port with the pan on. Apparently, BMW owners have it even worse and the fill plug is not accessible, so that white piece allows it to be filled via the drain plug.
