My LR3 Jerry Can Holder
I thought I'd share my little project I did today for under $45.00. I made a double jerry can holder out of aluminum and using my pop rivot gun to put it all together. It was pretty easy and all I need to do is mount it to my expedition rack. I'm contemplating whether or not to get rid of the hinge and just put a threaded rod in the middle like the baja jerry can holder. ??? So when I don't have any cans up on my rack I will be able to remove the top bracket.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

What keeps the top lock strip from vibrating and rotating at speed when only one jerry can is in place?
With two cans in place, I do not think the wind will lift the one free "wing", but I think there will be difficulty with a single can.
The workmanship looks good but I worry about wind loading and uplift.

I can see the plastic cans spewing fuel all over the place. The rack being copied has a cover on fuel spouts and are metal. Cannot see the plastic cans on their side being tight. Mine leak in lawn mower cabinet.

Here are some updated pics. I changed the top part of the can a little. I added a security strap to cover the jerry cans spouts. I also painted it.
