This is DEFINITELY something that I plan to purchase. It looks like there are different brands or types. Is Gap IID a specific make and model or just a general name? Which one do I need and where would be the best place to purchase it?

Gap Diagnostics is the brand. IIDTool is the product.

Great advice above. I am not sure about the metal transmission pan as I've not yet been convinced that it holds the same amount of fluid as the original.

I would add that if you don't want to do the cowl at this time, seal it with some black Gorilla tape. I did mine when I bought it 2 years ago as a temporary fix as there were more pressing matters to attend to. Two years later and the tape still looks great (can't tell it there unless looking closely) so I've left it for now. Worse thing to do is leave a "slight" gap in your cowl unattended.

Better safe than sorry, right? I put some strips of 3M Black Cast Vinyl over the warped areas. I’ll buy a new one and change it out eventually. In order to replace it, do you have to take the hood off?

No, just the wipers.

If you do the cowl, I HIGHLY recommend you get the a-pillar repair kit and make sure those leaks are corrected also. Cheap enough on eBay for new clips/kit. I say this because removing the a-pillars makes replacing the cowl a lot easier. Then you know leakage wise you are good - less the sunroof drains...

But I will second that some tape will help seal it up for now. Even a small gap can be bad. I used cold-weather electrical tape until I did mine. New cowl, $80.00.
