Default Park Brake Fault

My 2005 LR3 has started showing a park brake fault on the dash at startup - staying on as I drive.
The park brake is not engaged - in fact I rarely if ever use it.
What I have found is that if I turn the key to the position just before engaging the starter - then turn it back and then turn it to start the vehicle, the park brake light does not go on...

Any thoughts about what may be happening here?

Thanks in advance.

Probably needs adjustment. The parking brake uses an active tension system that is, basically, always working. Its probably not picking up proper tension on the cables. I would just google Bodsy's Brake Bible and follow the steps. It it is ignored, you can end up with scratching and/or random engagements of the parking brake.
