So I cautiously tried a stop from 40mph and it good to know that it was able to stop, and in a straight line too at that. There was No pulling to any particular direction. The only thing I didn’t like was how much I had to pull up on the handbrake to get aggressive stopping. But I guess a car of this size would need it.

Regarding the CCF response….YES YES YES that sounds like something that is worth exploring. Is there anyone around the New York area, or New England, that can help me with this. I really don’t know what’s involved but I’m picturing a laptop, beer and lots of cursing.

I wouldn't expect so since it wasn't an optional extra.

I’ve been thinking about this brake fault light…and wondering if anyone who has replaced the EPB module can verify this:
when the EPB module is replaced and job complete, should that brake fault light be on when the car is started for the first time and the driver needs to actuate the brake so it calibrates or something. Or should the brake light be off and the car assumes the module installed correctly? If it’s the later, maybe there is a fault with my module since the light is always on.
