Passenger door lock

I recently had a similar situation, but in my case the driver's side rear door latch was stuck in the open position. Prior to that, I had taken the door trim panel off to adjust something on the inside, and in the process had accidentally dislodged the lock/unlock cable.
Are you able to manually lock and unlock the door from the inside using the latch on the door handle? If you are able to open the door, I would take the inner door panel off to see what is going on with the cable. You first need to pull the gray plastic door handle piece off. The top half comes off; squeeze it hard and pull up at the same time. There are four plastic tabs that attach the piece, and they are very fragile. Once the plastic top is off, you will see four screws. There is also a screw under a black plastic circular piece near where the door lock latch is, and two more screws on opposite ends of the bottom of the door storage piece. You should also undo the puddle light at the bottom the door. Once all the screws are out, the door trim piece can be popped off.
