Pleasantly Confused
Had the truck over at a friends hoist equipped garage to change rotors and pads and he threw his Autel scanner on it after we were done to see what it would read and what it would control and to see what he could find out about the non functioning EAS. Vehicle had dropped to a very cool low rifer stance and was still drivable when I headed to his shop. Accessed all the systems but couldn't do anything but erase stored codes, which he did.
When I got home and got out, the compressor was running and the lights were all normal on the console and no malfunction light on speedo pod.... EAS has been working perfectly ever since.
Divinely gifted...

Yes... I don't have the list here at work but I'll post them up when I get home.... once they were cleared though the system seemed to resolve itself.
I was planning on replacing the battery as it was only showing 12.18 volts and doing a hard reset anyway. System restored without the reset but I changed the battery and did the reset anyway.

Well, went out this morning to start he truck after it was sitting for a couple of days. When it first started, the 'checking systems' message appeared and then went out and I looked and the EAS was in the normal height position.... everything seemed normal. I was expecting the compressor to come on but instead, the 'suspension fault' message appeared on the dash and the light indicating the normal height position went out and was inoperable. Turned truck off, restarted, and after the system was done checking itself and the light was illuminating the 'normal height' bar, I activated it to drop to the lowere position and then to re inflate to the normal position again... all was good. Compressor kicked in and ran for a few minutes and all seemed fine.
Any ideas what would make the system react like this... I seem to have a perfectly functioning system but sometimes it faults at startup... back to unpleasantly confused.

Not sure on this...but it sounds like you need to invest in a good scanner. GAP's IIDTool is a favorite around here. With that you can read codes, clear them and even see live values of what the EAS is doing.
If you don't hear the compressor running at all when you start it up (sometimes), it almost makes me wonder if it might be a bad relay. You might want to look into whether there is an identical relay elsewhere on the car that you could swap for a while.
Can you point me in the general direction of where these relays are? I"m assuming in the fuse cluster under the hood but is there one on the compressor itself?
