Hi: Thought I would pass on that this was resolved by repair of my instrument cluster. I had Clusterfix in Wa go thru it. If you need additional info LMK.

Has anyone else had these symptoms fixed by sending out their cluster? I am having the same issue

 

I fixed mine with a used cluster, but doing it that way won't keep your correct mileage. I believe GAP diagnositc will do a "fast lane" firmware flash with your old cluster to correct the mileage

I still have the old cluster, might be an idea to send that one off for repair for the rescue Rover.

In case people are wondering why it does the things it does, when the various modules on the medium speed bus lose communication with each other the vehcile assumes it has been in an accident, so it unlocks the doors and turns on the hazard flashersso if you are unconsious that part is already done. It's only trying to take care of you. If you shout too much at it the rover will get sulky and feel sorry for itself and never want to take you anywhere again.

 

Yes, Clusterfix fixed my 2007 cluster retaining original miles. No problems since for 30k miles. My 2006 never had the problem.
