Power Steering Squeal

Power Steering Squeal
Happy Saturday! I have an 05 LR3 with just over 100k on it.
Took it to my very reputable indie rover mechanic for an oil change. They noted the power steering fluid needed changed.
I changed the fluid as per the RAVE manual instructions. Except, I pulled the low pressure line vs using the drain plug.
That was probably my mistake. But, I followed the bleeding instructions to a tee.
All seemed fine until the next day. Fired him up, and it started squealing like nothing else.
So, I repeated the process with fresh oil, thinking I'd dislodged some crud while changing. That took care of it.... for about 48 hours. I don't see any leaks.
Am I missing something obvious? One thing I did notice: there was no oring on the l/p line. Should there be one? The manual did mention removing it.
