Default Power Steering Squeal

When I first start up my '03 DII, the power steering pump will give me a squeal. This has started to occur after I changed out the PS fluid. Is their a way to bleed the system?

Suggestions...

Thanking everyone in advance.

What fluid did you install? Have you inspected and replaced your belt? How many miles on the pump?

There is a nut ontop of the steering box, with the engine idling loosen that nut a turn or so, fluid should come out.
That is the bleeder screw.

I've had my pump off, rebuilt the pump and changed the lines and never had to bleed the system. I run Lucus power steering fluid in both my Discos and have no problems.

I would want a helper to start the truck, while someone with sharp eyes watches the pump pulley - is it binding or frozen during the squeal (if the squeal is the serpantine belt)? Or is it something else on that same belt, like water pump, Ac compressor clutch, idler tensioner pulley, etc.?

I am still waiting to see if it is his belt or bad tensioner as well as the fluid he used.
Air in the system will not cause a first start in the morning squeal.

Sorry for the lack of a response...I've been out of town for the last week or so.

As far a fluid goies it was something other than Lucas. The pump has 110,000 on it,. It is definately not a belt slipping although I'll check that when I bleed the system this weekend.

The squeel

as I was saying... the squeel occurs when the stearing wheel is turned for the first time on after starting the motor, NO when the engine is first started.

Thanks again for everyones help!
