Hi everyone

A friend of mine is interested in purchasing A LR3. He wanted to know if there is any information you can provide him before he buys one. So far he found 2 that he is really interested in. Tell your "friend" to make sure he gets a manual with the vehicle. It's very difficult to get one after purchase.

 

Personally I'd be looking for a HSE trim only. There are some goodies that I beileve unavailable / hard to find on SE

 

i'm in the process of buying an LR3 as well, so i'm a "new guy." i'm sure the other guys will correct me if i'm misinformed on anything.

-the second car is a six cylinder. obviously, it won't have as much power as the V8.

-if he wants to do any serious off roading he may want to hold out for a truck with the Heavy Duty package which has a locking rear differential. i believe you can tell if the truck has the HD package by checking the spare tire- if it's a full sized spare, it has the HD package, if it's a mini-spare, it does not have the HD package.

-checking the service records on these trucks can give you an idea if you are buying someone else's problem.

-the '05 is the first year for the LR3 and it is generally believed that bugs were worked out in the later models. YMMV, but it makes some sense.
