Radio Phone
I just, got my first land rover. A 2005 LR3. It does not appear to have the Bluetooth kit. However, it had an external telphone antena that I assume the previous owner used for something.
What is the funciton of the telephone button on the radio and the keypad. Are these useful without the Bluetooth kit?
Thanks very much,
bb

Hi:
The LR3 has two phone options: (1) Cradle & (2) Bluetooth. I'm not sure if on the 05 they had both together. On my 06 it came with bluetooth and the cradle option integrated.
If the LR3 is fitted with a phone kit, check under the lid of the center console. There's a mount with a connector that fits a cradle; maybe the cradle is already there.
You can buy a cradle that fits several Nokia phones. I bought that cradle (~$125) for my LR3 and then a used unlocked GSM phone off of eBay for $40.
Dropped the SIM in and It works great. If you're a Verizon or Sprint cusomer, I don't know which phone would work.
Hope this helps.
