That is 100% untouched original? Wish mine was that nice, but mine it at least still showing most of its paint. With that said, I would love to do a body-off restoration of the frame. And def repair the factory defect areas that collect water and debris.

It's original, from 2005....the only thing I do is sand/paint any surface rust from off-roading, like if I scrape paint off on a rock and rust forms (mostly sliders and gas tank skid, hardly any of that on the frame) and then spray it with BOESHIELD. I do that once a year.

I don't think ive seen a chassis that rusty even on a UK forum, i guess the other side would be just as bad so may need a chassis chop from a wreck to repair it or just do a body swap as DT has said.

Default LR3 Frame Rust Repair

I was able to go after the rust shown and put a beefy patch in. Also fixed the control arms.

Solid frame again.
Solid frame again.

My '05 has 135k miles and the rear uppers are fine. My '06 has 245k miles and while there is some "noise" coming from the rear suspension, nobody (at either dealer or indie) has stated that the rear uppers look shot. So, how have you determined this?
Thats impressive. I picked up my ‘06 at 123k. Both rear uppers and both front lowers were trashed. Rear uppers caused a bit of rear steer on curved freeway junctions. The truck would lean and trigger traction control. Putting it up on jack stands, you could grab the rear wheel and visibly rock it up and down.

Back to OPs question, I replaced mine in my driveway on jack stands. No need to lift the body. I will say that mine has also seen quite a bit of rust, and I had to cut the arm and the bolt as it was rusted to the inside of the bushing. But still nothing that needs to touch the body mounts.

I did finally change the rear upper on my '06, at about 252k....I was getting the rear wheel bearing changed in that corner anyway, so what the hell, right?
