I just bought an LR3 and I lost the key... I don't care about the fob buttons, can I replace the whole ignition with a used ignition from ebay as long as that ignition comes with a new key? Would this trigger the immobilizer in my ecu or is the immobilizer in the switch itself?

The dealership is so expensive for a replacement.

Wish it was that easy, its not. The key is pretty much embedded into the truck's anti-theft setup. This is why its important to not lose the key.
