Default Reverse transmission kick

Hello, i have a 2006 LR3 with 125k miles. Everything is running fine. Today when i started it i shifted to the reverse and it suddenly kicked back. It felt like the car is stuck or there is a stone behind one of the wheels. After i arrived to my destination, i tried to shift back and everything was normal.
after i finished my work, i also had the same situation in the reverse mode and when the car was cold. After that everything was acting smoothly.
anyone can help in this matter?

Was it while being in reverse and moving when it kicked or was it a delay in engaging reverse after selecting, then a sudden kick?

I have shifted normally to reverse with no problem, but when i has pushing on the paddle i felt resistance as if the hand brake was still on and then it kicked as if something was stuck.

So the engine RPM don't seem to spike like its slipping/in neutral? Sorry, just want to really clarify the issue. If the RPM do not seem to spike much then I would lean toward it being a brake/parking brake issue. Do you use your parking brake?

Yes it spikes, like i pushed on the gas paddle to move backward. As i told you before it feels like the parking break is still on. Once it happened i checked it to make sure that i have released it. I use the parking break always and seems working fine.

The RPM should not spike/flare if its in gear. It will climb of course as you try to move. So it sounds like you have a transmission issue then since its doing that. When was it last serviced, if ever? Is it leaking? Check the fluid level would be the first thing to do but its not exactly easy as there is no dipstick.

The last service was done from 6 months ago. There is no leakage for my knowledge. It just started suddenly. I think i should have an urgent visit to the workshop. Thanks again

I went to the workshop and checked it. Seems that the parking break has been broken (I don't know how) and it broke the rear disc. They will change both of them. i think it will solve the issue.
