Default Search came up empty....

...but I know I've seen this.

P0442-00, Evaporative Emission System leak detected along with "loose or missing fuel cap." I've done the usual things. Removed it, tightened it, etc. I cleared the fault and we will see if it comes back.

in the meantime the filter neck doesn't look quite the same as the one on my '05. Anyone else's look like this?

Thanks all!

Default Yes and No

I do have a problem with 2006 & 2014 not filling complety, but only the 2014 shows a code for EVAP leak I have yet to find. ( I put more smoke in that thing than they use in KISS concert and still nothing found)

From my 2006

From my 2008
I am curious what you find.

Jeff

My '05 looks more like your 2nd photo.

I am pretty sure that is a flap and on mine it gets stuck open sometimes. But its job is not to seal, it is to slow fuel from pouring out in an accident/rollover.

Okay so that isn't part of the issue.

....it seems to have gone away, though, after I added more fuel. Could it have been a fuel quality issue? I've seen it in the past, too, only to have it self-correct.

Could be. Or defective filler cap. They do wear out or fail.

Right....could be that, but my error seems to have gone away after filling back up with fuel from a new spot. At the same time, a buddy of mine had his LR3 throw the same error. The common denominator? We both usually get fuel at Costco! I'm betting on some bad gas from their supplier. I'll keep an eye on it; thanks y'all!
