Ah...thanks for clarifying.

Yes, the LR3 is better for all those reasons. The drivetrain is superior and tires matter... A LOT!

We had like 14 inches of snow and I parked my kids Ford Explorer 4x4 in the yard to do driveway. It got stuck, just spun and spun. Only right front and rear driver side spin.

I took my LR3 with perrelli into same snow and it was no challange at all. Not even close to getting stuck.

I pulled it out with the LR3 that was ez too.

So I can't imagine the kind of grip I would get with real snow tires.

Amazing difference. I drive in the snow as often as I can. If it snows, I head to the local ski area (about 25 minutes away) to ski. Big hills coming and going, and I go on the back roads instead of the highways to avoid people who don't know how to drive. We also go up to VT many times each season... and with two little kids better to err on the side of overkill. Also go to a friends hunting cabin (to use 4-wheelers and ski) in the winter. Miles deep in the woods... no power, cell service, etc. No plowed trails. Would not make it without snows! I had on/off road tires on my Disco's and they were better than all seasons in the snow, but can't beat a purpose built tire.
