Default Some advice on a couple leaks pls

Howdy, just got my first LR3 06, HSE V8 121 km and it’s got a few leaks,
1. first is auxiliary coolant hard lines that run down passenger side. Can they be cut where line is leaking and hose replaced instead?
2. left rear axle diff seal, can this be repaired without LR specially tools.
3. Had the top seal of the rack steering pop out on a cold day -22c tried to tap it back in but not sure if it will stay.
4. A/C lines on the right side.
Appreciate any advice, thanks

1 - Sure thing. The read HVAC coolant lines are just a few sections of hard pipe connected with short sections of hose. You can cut eh hard lines as needed and run longer soft coolant hose.
2 - Pretty sure you can. They should be the same type of seal found in the fronts. The fronts I did on mine, both sides (one was need, one part of a "well, I am in there project...). I think they are a different size than the front, but one handy tool I found for installing the fronts that I had on hand was a ball joint press kit. Some of the round cylinders in the kits are the perfect size to help push in the new seals. And that is all that you do, lubricate and push in/tap in until it bottoms out. Removal is just to pull em out. A slide hammer works best but you can very carefully pry them out.
3 - Odd, never heard of that happened. But the protective hat is missing that sits on there and surrounds the steering shaft. It sheds water and such away from that top seal.
4 - A/C line looks like a simple o-rings failure at the junction. Easy fix if it were not for recovering the refrigerant and refilling. So its best to do as many seals as you can on the entire system first.

Thanks, hmm I wonder if the rack steering box was replaced at sometime??
Also, are these cars normally this rusty underneath, undercarriage looks like a car that’s been sitting in a field for 50 years with no wheels?
And one more thing, what is this?

That’s your air suspension reservoir.

Where do you live? Rust is relative. Where I am in PNW, that amount of rust would take 50+ years. In Central Canada and the upper Midwest US, I think that level of rust is common after 5-10 years.

Yeah, my LR3s have had no rust, but they've all been southern trucks. Looks like yours has been in the rust belt at some point.

Btw, for future reference, the air suspension resorvoirs can develop leaks from rust and cause various suspension faults - the leaks though are often found on top, so if you suspect a leak in the future, remember to remove it and check on top.

LR placed the reservoir so close to the frame, there is just enough room for salt to accumulate and slowly rust away the back side. That's the original style tank, so it's been on there a long time.
