Source for new key fob with replaceable battery
Is there a source for 315 MHz new key fobs but with a replaceable battery.
I have one original fob that works great. No issues.
My issue is with my second fob. I've gotten some from eBay and Lucky 8. All have the same issue. None hold a charge very well.
My LR3 is a weekend car at best. I can easily go a month without driving it. There have been time when there is not enough charge to unlock the doors. After driving it for a day it charges back up but it does not keep a charge very well. When it was driven by a family member every day there was no issue but leaving it un-driven it looses charge. The original has never had an issue regardless of how long sense I've used it.
I'd rather have a fob where I can replace the battery instead of having the rechargeable battery that is soldered in.
Thanks,

I've wondered this as well
Even my 2021 Audi has a simple replaceable CR2032
My wife's 1 OEM LR fob is still going strong - 18 yrs later! That's crazy to me
I just replaced the cheap rechargeable solder-in battery on my ebay special fob - only lasted a few years
Put in a Panasonic, fiddly work but not too bad - will see how this lasts
My first thought is that these cheap fobs aren't REALLY charging, and are essentially just using up the battery and need a more involved replacement
In which case, you could solder in a regular battery holder so you have replaceable in the future?
Only if confirming there is no charge circuitry
Maybe someone else has a lead

Thanks,
My soldering skills stink. I'm good for attaching two wires but that is about it.
I usually make things worse when I try to repair electrical items with soldering.
I would be willing to take it somewhere but I have had no luck finding a place. I thought my local Batteries Plus store would have someone there who could do it but no luck.

I am kind of surprised you are having this problem. I just went outside with my second fob that has been sitting on my book shelf for maybe 3 years and it works fine. Maybe the batteries you are getting are old stock? As for a place to solder in a new battery, call stereo and ham radio repair shops. You will probably have to take out the circuit board and provide the battery. One of Land Rover's stupidest ideas was to have these cases glued together. The newer cars have easily replaceable batteries.
