Well, my key fob for my 05 LR3 is completely toasted. There is no other option but to replace it. I know that it will be expensive so I went down to my local dealer and asked for a price. $569!! Really? My Porsche key and fob is only 250 with programming. So, does anyone know of a dealer that can beat 500 bucks or am I just going to have to bite the bullet?

 

What's wrong with the key? Why not buy a new shell and transfer over the internals and key blade?

 

That was the original plan. I bought the new case and it took me time to get to it. Meanwhile, my wife has been using the truck and somehow managed to completely destroy the unlock button diode thing. It is totally worn down to a nub and doesn't work at all.

 

Ah, that sucks.

Check this Ebay seller. You have to send the key to the UK, whole thing took about a week. They can rebuild it.

I have tried to solder on damaged micro switches to the remotes PCB with around a 10% success ratio. I have a button if you want me to send to you. But beware you could damage the board further with your soldering.
