Default Strange behavior

Just got the new AMK compressor.

I drove the vehicle for the first time in a few days yesterday (had it parked in Access Height) and it thought it was in Extended Height.

???

I raised it up to Normal any everything was fine. No faults or anything, just seemed weird.

Anyone ever seen this? Call it "EAS Confusion."

Did you update the computer to acknowledge the AMK?

Dealer Service Department did the work. I'm sure they did. They replaced the relay as well. I drove it home from the dealership (~20 miles) and it's totally fine...just that one weird instance.

What did the truck say when you raised it up to normal height even though it thought it was in extended? Did it try and fight you or did it react normally?

This is good info. Never heard of this before.

Try putting it in access mode, if it bounces back and says extended mode but is still between access and standard, you may have one or both front shocks that are binding.
What is happening is the air suspension "thinks" it is hung because it takes too long to reach the target height, then rises above access to clear the obstruction.

I selected Normal height and it went into Normal height and we lived happily ever after. It was just strange is all.

Also, yesterday I was showing off my loud new compressor to a buddy; I took it up to Off-road height. No biggie, yeah it's loud. Later, I wanted it back at Access so I could more easily polish the hood (I was detailing it). I selected Access with the engine OFF but the key in the Accessory position (Position II, I believe) but it would not lower. I recall that with the Hitachi it would lower in that situation.

Does the new operating software for the AMK follow some different rules?

I don't recall being able to actuate my Hitachi ever unless the engine was on and all doors were closed.

Yeah I know I could get it to lower, just not raise....so isn't that more the EAS controlling the valves and such than the Hitachi compressor doing anything?
