CV Joint grease?
I am redoing the CV boots on my halfshafts, and I noticed the kit comes with 3 types of grease 2 thin feeling greases and one thick grease. The tech pub only says pack with grease provided. Can anyone provide further guidance as to which grease goes on the inner/ outer CV joint?

should basicly use 00 grease which is like bearing grease and gear oil mixed to consistancy of cake batter
if the boots ripped you would be better off replacing the cv axle assembly since crap likely got in there imo

They weren't ripped, my front differential went out and I used the oppurtunity to upgrade to an air locker, replace my lower control arms, and CV boots
So just to add knowledge for the internet. Using this kit CV Boot Kit Front (TDR500110 Same Fit As Part # TDR500110 ) - Land Rover axles & casings-cv joints-bearings from Atlantic British It comes with a 'Grease Pack A' and 'Grease Pack B.' A is for the outer CV joint and B is for the inner. Kit A comes with 2 different part numbers of grease, but as far as I can tell they are identical just different sizes.
Also, all the literature I read has you drive the outer CV joint off the shaft to access the boots. I could not get it to budge. I escalated up to a 5 pound sledge and was about to give up and re-use the old boots, and just replace the grease. It was then that I took off the inner CV boot and noticed the inner CV is held in place only with an external snap ring. 30 seconds and a rubber mallet later I had all the boots off.
Pay special attention to the inner CV boot when re-installing, it has a contour that matches that of the shaft, it will fit in the wrong position. And make sure the hose clamps and boots are in position but not tightened before re assembling CV assembly, you cant put them on after.

I didn't beat on the side with the snap ring, the inner has the snap ring, the outer has what they call a circlip, that you compress in a groove in the axle and slide into the CV and it pops out when it's installed all the way. The only way to remove them is to hit the CV really hard so the circlip compresses back into their groove. I have disassembled CVs before but they didn't take anywhere near the force I was applying this time, and that is why I stopped. It did not look or feel like I had damaged anything
