Suspension knocking
Just had the lower control arms, tie rods and sway bar bushings replaced but I'm experiencing some knocking when I go over small to large bumps. Not really a violent knock but just enough to feel dangerous at speed. When on a dirt road there's definitely more knocking. Did the usual checks on bushings, steering shaft etc etc and everything feels tight. There is a little knock when i have someone turn the wheel while feeling the drive shaft but can't locate the source.
Wondering if I can simply tighten up the steering box but cant locate it!
Is this it here? https://www.dropbox.com/s/t7ze4ddaou...14.21.png?dl=0
Thanks in advance!

Someone on this board has a link to tons of videos demonstrating different sounds (tlt I think). That may help you. I was chasing one around about 2 years ago...turned out to be the upper cover on my EAS compressor knocking against my sliders. Lower cover is no longer in use.
I have a similar noise when going over bumps (usually while turning). To me it sounds like when you take two rather large rocks and sort of smack them together, or drop one rock on another. Haven't had any problems stem from that per se, but I always imagined it was from the front suspension compressing.
No idea what it is, but I'd be interested to know too.

The inner/outer tie rod ends are sold as a complete kit now. LR010669 left LR010670 right
The usually problem on the steering column is the connection knuckle, not the box. It has a rubber damper built in, and can develop play in it. QMN500250
You should be able to see it, or part of it by looking at the steering shaft from the drivers side, and you will see it bolted on there.

Similar issue with a "two rock" hitting each other or knocking when going over bumps. After inspecting all bushings and checking end play on bearings, I can only think its got to be the air shock damper. Driving on the highway, there is a slight shim seemingly like air shock is out.
