TPMS and spare tire on LR3
I own a 2007 LR3 HSE and recently received an alert my spare tire pressure was low. Sure enough I checked the tire, and it was flat. With the tire filled and reinstalled I'm still receiving the low spare warning even after driving around for weeks. The TPMS settings show a sensor associated with the spare tire yet when I open the spare tire there is no TPMS sensor in the tire. So that brings me to several questions:
1) If there is no TPMS sensor in the spare, why does the computer show a sensor ID associated with it?
2) How do I remove the warning? Is it as simple as deleting the sensor ID? But this leads me to ask how did a sensor ID get associated with the spare?
3) If I add a sensor to the spare (donut), how would it be read, I searched all around the spare and there is no reader. is it close enough to the rear tire readers to be read that way?
Thanks!
