Default Transfer gear warning light flashing 2005 lr3

My 2005 lr3 is in low mode and the low gear warning light is flashing, as are the lights on the console - replaced battery and parking light switch
not sure I want to drive to dealer on low gear- any solutions before the dealer?

I wold pull the T case ECU and look for corrosion. You can swap in a used one without programming.

Also, do you have a GAP tool? You should buy one. That trip to the dealer will cost more than the tool.

It also possible that transfer box solenoid has failed. I think the part is about $80? Involves draining fluid but repair it not terribly difficult as it sits on the outside of the box. May not be your problem, but putting it out there as a possibility.

Anything is possible, but without code reader we might as well change the radiator!

Ive actually seen this problem with a bad shift motor, not the solenoid.

If you want to change a part, I would do the shift motor once you have inspected the ECU.

If it will not change from low then I'm with Abran that it may be the shift motor or the connection to it. You have checked fuses.

Abran- I checked the wires to T case and plugged it all back in. Started it up and all warnings cleared, shifted back to normal drive and all seems well. Thanks

I just bought a LR3, and its doing the exact same thing. The light on the IPC is flashing green light for the low range selector. I have tried to change the position but it kept flashing. I have scanned the code for DTC and found P186D-00 clutch actuator stuck at the transfer case. I have not made any repairs yet just trying to figure out why is doing that.. My question is should I disconnect the battery, check TCCM connectors for corroded wires, check transfer case connectors and actuator for any signs of corrosion? What should be my first step?

Those would seem like the logical things to do before even asking for help. Dive in, see if anything stands out. Otherwise its just a guessing game.
