Default Transmission Behavior

I can't remember if I have posted about this before, so my apologies if it's a repeat.

My transmission, in Command Shift, will sometimes pop out of 1 and go into 2 when I downshift depending on RPMs. It's almost like it's trying to avoid a CA stop when I'm driving at a 'tweener speed. If my RPMs are higher or lower, 1st gear will catch and stick. That's on my 2005.

On my 2006, the transmission will just ignore my downshift request and remain in 2. Even after I come to a stop.

Any ideas?
