Good question. Actually, I have two LRs that are going though this at the same time - The LR3 I have the 2 piece pan. New Bolts.

My L322 (2008) has the same transmission, but no tricky access issues. The Pan and filter are all in one like the original.

yeah i was wonder how that location would change by changing the pan?

did we ever determine if any fluid that meets Shell M-1375.4 is acceptable for the ZF in the LR3?

Thanks

Yes, Motorcraft Mercon SP XT-6-QSP is identical to Lifeguard 6. Google if you feel like watching dead horses get beat, lol. Its brought up often enough across several car forums since more than just us need the stuff. Short of it was that when Ford owned Jaguar/Rover they need to produce the same spec fluid for serving them in the US. Its been even sent to a lab for testing to verify the fact its identical in spec. The only thing is the color is red, like most US transmission fluid. Checking Amazon its gone up in price to $115 from $85 for 12 quarts! But still A LOT cheaper than the "real deal". And I will add that not only do I use this Motorcraft fluid, others do too with no issues.
