The truck has been running beautifully and all of the sudden, while sitting in the parking lot waiting for my son, TPMS light started flashing, A/C went off, heard the click of the door locks, radio said System Fault System shutting down, all the usual symptoms.
Have not scanned for any codes now that I have my GAP.
Just odd, everything was going right.
I inspected the wiring harness when I installed the "new" used donor Cluster. It looked great. Is it possible there is still a issue at the harness and the motion of unplugging the old cluster and putting in the donor helped something? Could it be another bad cluster? Another module that is in the chain?
I guess it could be a yes to any of those questions. Just it was terrible and always going crazy until I put in the donor cluster. Pure bliss for several days.
What the..... Ugh.... I suppose it is possible the replacement cluster has one tiny cold solder joint. But if we look back there was suspicion of power/ground, etc. And while at idle the alternator is sorta putting out just enough to get by and charge the battery if needed. Guess we need some codes and maybe check voltages at longer idle times. I forget, was the battery ever swapped for another? A bad battery can show 12v all day while also having a bad cell or a short between two cells, which can cause some weird crap too. So there is still the chance you had a bad cluster and [insert random Land Rover issue here].

That would be my guess, pretty much most clusters from the this year range can/will fail at some point so i'd look at getting your original one repaired.

Yep, battery was swapped with a new one. IF, it acts up tomorrow, I will immediately pull codes.
OK, in the truck now and cranked the truck and waited for the AC to out, flashers going, no side turn signal activity etc. Clusters shows not temp on the temp gauge and my TPMS light flashing and continuous.
While truck running and sitting parked, it started the acting up.
Check faults with GAP tool, and I only get the erroneous "invalid roof position" code. No other codes.
OK, hit advanced under Faults and turned everything on in the GAP tool.
Now I get this (can ignore the suspension and other faults unless you want extra credit on what is going on with suspension)

While trying to find the stupid drain from the AC which is supposed to be next to the left side of transmission, I stumbled upon this. Not sure if it is related to the "cluster" issue, but when I start working on the suspension, I think that is what we call in law enforcement as a clue.
was getting no compressor temp readings other than 9 degrees C with no changes on the thermistor .

Dam.... you are a glutton for punishment. I dont think any CAN BUS wires are there, but I could be wrong since I am not certainly which way the ABS bus wires are routed and Rover did some weird ****. As for prior post, I know steering angle can really mess with some things like ABS, suspension, etc. Lots of warning when it is defective or out of calibration.
Brake pedal. But yes, that is it. There is one on each side but the issue is not if they look nice or not, they usually do actually. But they can clog up and prevent draining and then the HVAC box itself just leaks all over. Give it a gentle side to side twist as you pull down on that tab. It should pop odd easily enough. If you get a gush of water, you have an issue. I take water bottle with the pop-up thing on top and squirt those into them to clear. But they are not long, so almost anything can be poked down em.
