What did you do to your LR3 today?

Exactly. that is why I bought the slide hammer with the right sized C shaped fork to slide in the space between the case and the axle. I have both the 1 lb and the 3 lb slide hammers so it is much easier now that it once was.
More than once I have done the "buy once, cry once" for specialized tools and everytime I use one, I am glad I spent the money. As I get older, the mere act of turning a wrench gets more difficult, even more so without the right tool.
Again, glad you got it sorted.

Spent an awesome weekend away at Lake Colac which is approx. 150 klms west of Melbourne, took my almost adult kids and our 2 dogs.
Along with the caravan i took our kayak and SUP board, my dog Billy is quite happy siting on the board or in kayak with his life jacket on to go for a paddle.

Oil light came on
On my last run my dash board oil light came on then off sporadically. Checked oil level. Drove home with the light on and off. Did an oil filter change (just in case oil filter was clogged and hitting bypass) changed out the oil pressure switch. Still the same. Brought in for Indy service and oil pressure checks out fine. Most likely a dash board issue. Too expensive to chase that electrical gremlin down.

Got some new wheels and tires on
Saw a really good deal for 5 new Defender wheels and 255/70r18 tires. Jumped on it and installed same day. Used the Gap IID tool to raise the vehicle and increase the tire radius from 370 to 407mm (32" tires).
For some reason, the CEL came on, and codes with a P0501-00 Vehicle Speed sensor A range/performance (AA). No idea how that occurred.

I don t want to side-track the thread, but tire calibration can be a bit important. On your average mall crawlers it would not matter most likely, but for those that off-road like you and I do houm_wa, a drastic change from stock size can have an impact on how the terrain response performs. Basically it comes down to math. Larger tire means changes in torque and other variables. Generally not a huge deal that will drastically change the vehicle's performance, but changes nonetheless. I would think that rock crawl mode would be the most impacted since its the most sensitive to slippage.

There is a lot more to changing tire size than one setting. I wish GAP would develop a specific menu for changing tire sizes. I adjusted mine but read 2 over and in tight corners stability kicks in. So I am not quite right in the settings yet. Should be easy, its not.
