I'd be happy with the just adding the piece for the stepped roof section without replacing the whole rail, rhino make legs that fit directly to the factory fitting holes so might just add 2 for the end of the rack.
I was originally intending to use the system i had in my D1 but battery was too big and the traxide unit is a better match for the complex D3 electrics.
Heated seats and wheel, no where i could use them here.

Must have been the Rhino extensions that I had seen, so thanks for the heads up.
I spent a couple of years in Libya so I have tried +30C and sand. I prefer -30C and snow - keeping warm is easier than trying to cool off. Also snow does not sandblast the windscreen and everything else.
I really do not envy you guys down under - thousands of miles of heat, and snow is rare - not my idea of fun.
Finally got around to adding a Nav unit that is an add-on to the Pioneer 4200NEX receiver the previous owner had installed. The Nav works great, with verbal instructions for turns automatically interrupting whatever music I'm listening to. In addition, I added a backup camera (activates when in reverse) as well as a front camera (can be on full time if I want - I thought this might be useful off-road. Both cameras display to the Pioneer screen on the dash, with a simple touch-screen toggle between them. A nice thing about this setup is that I can keep that cubby in the middle of the dash, which I find to be a useful spot for putting things. I can also send/receive phone calls via the unit. Newer Pioneer head units come with Nav included, though they're spendier. I'll post photos tomorrow. Hoping to add the Traxide dual battery setup before Spring!
Here are the promised photos. I had to install the rear camera on the bumper (on the removable plate that covers the tow hitch connection). Front camera is attached to the grille. The GPS antenna and traffic antenna are on the side of the windshield to avoid interference from heater wires that are most everywhere else in the windshield. Rear camera is wired into the tow harness for power and ground, and front camera is wired into the power and ground connections on back of the Pioneer head unit. The rig needs a bath, as you can see!
