Not bad! I was thinking to buy an entirely new part and perhaps upgrade to “heavy duty” or “off road” quality if it exists.

3 wheel wells down 1 to go. Then if I marked everything right 33's will be a go.

Rolled the body seam over trimmed a bit with the angle grinder. Will trim up the liner and reform it using the heat gun to match the new profile.

....seems like a lot of work for 33s. Did you do more than just the body seam? The pics make it look more elaborate. What else did you have to do in order to fit 33s? Also, have you considered re-gearing? Which tires are you going with? I run 275/65 Cooper Discoverer STT Pros and Cooper's website shows their OD at 32.6. Now....that's not far from 33" I concede, but the Mendoza Line for re-gearing, for me, has always been 3" larger than stock OD.

I have the exact same tires on my rig but I didn’t need anything except to add new coil springs that raised my rig about 2”. I have 18” wheels. I didn’t need to cut anything or modify any part of my wheel wells. The tire rubs on the front passenger side only when I reverse. Only problem I’ve had is my special programs get an error message every time I drive my rig. Usually when I hit 60+MPh or when I turn semi sharp or sharp turn no matter how fast or slow I am going. Perhaps I need to re gear? I haven’t heard about re gearing but then again I’m fairly new in the 4x4 scene and I’ve owned my LR3 for less than a year. Can you please explain the re gearing and when is it needed?

My 285/65 rubbed when stuffed in the rear on the body seam. The 33x12.50R18 rubbed merely by turning the steering wheel and would definitely hit the body seems.

Narrow 33’s would probably clear with little effort. The width though I think adds additional clearance issues.

Re-gearing would be nice but I am not aware of any options for gears. I know HD CV’s are soon to be an option.

I rolled the body seems and the lower fender was cut back and rolled over as well. Than I trimmed the plastics to match on the front.

Rear was simply rolling the body seams

Ahhhh.....so you did some trimming too, I got it. I did the seam roll as well...just for the 275s. Is it worth all that just for a <1" larger tire?

@Rover Rene re-gearing accounts for the greater tire diameter and un-sprung weight. Your faults sound like an EAS cross-articulation fault. Start by re-calibrating the suspension.

Yes I trimmed, it was mentioned in a earlier post as well. Your 275/65 are .5" over the standard for that size and are as big as my 285/65 were.

So to me the extra .9" in height is a plus. The big benefit is increase in width. 10.8 vs 12.5. The LR3 I feel responds better with more contact patch.

So for me it's worth a try.

Cool cool....good info, too, thanks. The Coopers do run a little larger than most 275/65s, I concur.
